Historic articles are usually written by analyzing the topic, investigating the analyzed topic or by formulating historic events. But, without going through this process, I would just share some information about some of the events which might get lost in time. The information which I am about to share is about the Battle of Ten Kings.

Battle of ten kings is alluded to in the Rig Veda and in Sanskrit, it is called Dasarajna Yuddha. The ancient Indian sacred collection of the script of Vedic hymns has many hidden historical events which might be taken as myth or history. I think it depends on proofs and facts. The battle happened between the Kuru Vedic Aryan Tribal Kingdoms of Bharata. The battle took place in Punjab near the river named Ravi. Allies of Bharata were also from tribals of northwest Hindustan and trtsu-Bharata (Kuru King) Sudas.
Belligerent of war were the Purus, Panis, Druhyus, Parsu, Matsya, Bhrigus, Dasa, Bhalanas, Anu and Alina. The ten kings of Samavaran and Vishwamitra were leaders in the war. The king Sudas and Vashistha were commanders. The strength of the battle was around 10,000 (mandala 10).
Mentioned tribes in the Rig Veda were:-
Purus: One of the major tribal confederations in the Rigveda.
Panis: Also the name of a class of demons; later associated with the Scythians.
Druhyus: Some align them with the Gandhari. (Later age Druids of Europe).
Parsu: The Parsu have been connected by some with the ancient Persians.
Matsya: They are only mentioned in the Rigveda (7.18.6), but later in connection with the Salva Kingdom.
Bhrigus: The priestly family descended from the ancient Kavi Bhrigu. Later, they are related to the composition of parts of the Atharva Veda (Bhṛgv-Āṅgirasa).
Bhalanas: Some scholars have argued that the Bhalanas lived in the Bolan Pass area.
Dasa: Warriors from South Hindustan and also all Iranian tribes that were in opposition to King Sudas, cognate to the Iranian ethnonym Dahae (also known as Dahan Scythians). In the Rig Veda, Dasyu refers to inimical people and is generally a term of denigration.
Anu: Some place them in the Parusni (Ravi) area.
Alinas: it was suggested that they lived to the north-east of Nuristan, because the land was mentioned by the Chinese pilgrim Hiouen Thsang.
The situation between all ten kings took different twists and turns. This war gave future generations a different way to rule, fight and all weapons. Importance of priests was acknowledged in and after this humongous war.
The battle changed our land of Hindustan. The ongoing war, its aftermath and hymns will be described in our part 2 article of the Battle of Ten Kings.
